LuDuan is a self-service platform that connects qualified professionals with clients who need cybersecurity, AI governance, privacy and risk services. We handle client acquisition, quoting, payment collection and delivery management; you focus on delivering expert work. This page explains how the platform works, what we expect from our consultants and the terms that govern every engagement. Please read it carefully before proceeding.
Application review takes up to 3 business days. You will be asked to create an account and complete your professional profile after accepting these terms.
Consultants deliver services described in each order’s scope through the LuDuan platform. The agreed scope, deliverables and timeline are binding once accepted. Any change to the scope must be agreed in writing through the platform before work proceeds. Consultants must not perform work outside the agreed scope and expect additional payment.
Consultants provide services as independent contractors, not as employees of LuDuan. No employment relationship is created by these terms or by any engagement through the platform. LuDuan does not provide MPF contributions, paid leave, insurance or any statutory employment benefits. Consultants are responsible for their own tax, MPF (where applicable) and insurance obligations. This status is fundamental to the relationship and to the platform pricing structure; by registering, consultants confirm they accept this basis.
The client’s payment for an order is held in escrow by LuDuan. The platform fee is 30% of the total order value, applied at settlement; the consultant receives 70% of the order value. Payment is released to the consultant only after the client accepts the deliverables. LuDuan remits the consultant’s share within 7 business days of acceptance, less any applicable deductions. Consultants must not request or accept direct payment from clients for platform engagements.
Consultants must deliver professional-standard work within the agreed timeline, communicate progress through the platform and flag any scope changes before proceeding. Repeated quality failures or missed deadlines may result in suspension or removal from the platform.
Consultants must keep all client information strictly confidential. All client data, including files, documents, messages and results, must be deleted within 5 business days of engagement completion. Consultants must not retain, copy or reuse client data for any other purpose. LuDuan removes client data from its systems 30 days after order completion.
Consultants must comply with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (PDPO) and all applicable laws. Failure to protect or delete client data or any misuse of client information may result in civil and criminal liability, removal from the platform and liability to LuDuan for resulting damages.
Deliverables are commissioned by the client through LuDuan. Upon payment release, consultants grant the client full rights to the deliverables, except for pre-existing tools and methodologies owned by the consultant. Consultants retain ownership of their pre-existing materials.
Consultants may withdraw from the consultant pool or terminate this arrangement at any time without notice. However, a consultant with an active engagement in progress may not withdraw until that engagement is completed or formally reassigned by LuDuan. If a consultant abandons or fails to complete an active engagement, the consultant is liable for the costs incurred by LuDuan to identify and onboard a replacement consultant and for the consequences of any delay in deliverables to the client, including any refund or credit issued to the client as a result.
Consultants must act honestly, avoid conflicts of interest and not solicit clients directly for off-platform work during or after engagements.
Consultants must maintain accurate profile information, respond to engagement offers promptly and comply with all platform policies. LuDuan may suspend or remove consultants who breach these terms.
Your commission is calculated on the engagement value less the Partner Introduction Fee applicable to the engagement and is linked to your average client rating. The Partner Introduction Fee is shown as a single line in your settlement statement; its composition is not broken down. The first three completed engagements are paid at a flat 70%. From the fourth completed engagement the rate follows your average settled rating (most recent 10 rated orders): 4.80 or above = 70%, 4.40-4.79 = 65%, 4.00-4.39 = 60%, below 4.00 = 55%. A client rating below 4.00 triggers a written notice; a second one within the recent window deactivates your account immediately and opens a five-business-day dispute window - if the dispute fails or is not raised, you are removed from the consultant list. Clients must rate and accept deliverables before the consultant fee is released; client silence for five business days is deemed acceptance with the previous order rating carried forward (deemed ratings do not count toward removal). Worked example: an engagement is listed at HK$10,000 and carries a Partner Introduction Fee of HK$200 (shown as a single line in your settlement). Your commission base is HK$10,000 minus HK$200 = HK$8,000. At an average rating of 4.8 your fee is 70% x HK$8,000 = HK$5,600. Where a partner introduced the engagement, the partner commission is deducted from the net first and your tier applies to the remainder. Full rules: Consultant Guidelines LG-CONS-001.
